Reflections
From Novatainia
The Reflections are one of the three servants of Atropos.
[edit] Description
Reflections stem from mirrors or other reflective surfaces, and resemble that whom they reflect. Generally they cannot leave the mirrors, but can travel instantly between any, and so are great spies. Outside of a mirror, they still look like what they reflect, but in a two dimensional manner - you can never see around them, whatever angle you look at them.
[edit] Strengths/Weaknesses
True reflections can only be released into our world by their Queen, or by a Magic Mirror. This means they can function only as spies except in the rarest of circumstances. When released, they can travel instantly between any mirrors or other reflective surfaces. They can be multiplied infinitely if they stand between two mirrors. And they absorb whatever is thrown at them. However, they appear to retain a glass like physical form, in that they can be shattered like glass by the right pitch.
[edit] Appearance in History
The reflections appeared three times in history (with the exception of the prison world of Atropos in the expedition To Parents and Back). The first time they came from the first Magic Mirror of the Etruri, constructed to allow them to spy on others, and triggered the first Reflection War. Later, the Etruri, seeking an edge in the Whisper Wars, constructed two magic mirrors, side by side, hoping to create a massive army. The reflections turned against them, however, and, as they could not be killed without harming that which they reflected, they and the people they reflected were all turned into glass and a great mountain placed over their heads, to protect them. The third Reflection War came at the end of the Second Age, when the Axilroth who had remained behind were attacked by them and defeated. They destroyed the World Tree.
